Family Fun Magazine is a terrific resource! Plus, it is powered by Disney...so you know it has to be great! :) They have wonderful printables, crafts, recipes, etc. for different themes and holidays.  You can even subscribe online to receive the magazine at home, which I think is totally worth it!!! You can also get great ideas on their website, which is a tremendous help when you are creating lesson plans and need some extra crafts or recipes for your units! Thought I would share this terrific resource with all of you...after all today is Terrific Resource Tuesday! So, click on the link below and check it out, I'm sure you will not be disappointed with the ideas and inspirations that you will get from surfing their site.

I just wanted to share this amazing resource with all of you teachers.  In case you have never heard of TLC Art, it is amazing!  Check out the website HERE .  This is a great center idea to add to any classroom or it can be done as a whole-group activity.  The art lessons can be teacher-directed, which is great because then students need to practice their listening skills and they also need to have patience as you go through each step for creating each project or you can use the projects in a center where the students need to follow the step-by-step order (posted with pictures and/or writing), which is great for helping students to work independently or you can use a buddy system where they work together to complete their individual projects.

I plan on adding a TLC Station to my classroom, I've been wanting to incorporate it into my lesson planning for years, but never had the time.  I am definitely making it a top-priority for the future.  No, I have not been paid to advertise for them but I really love their products (though if they'd like to pay me I wouldn't say No! Ha!)  How would 'I' use it, you may be asking yourself... Well, I'm thinking that I will set up a single desk and then place a bucket with all the necessary materials (glue, writing and coloring tools, construction paper cutouts that the project requires, etc.) that students would need in order to complete each respective project.  I would then make a sample and hang it up over the desk so the students could see the finished product.  For older students, you can even create a list of directions so they can practice their reading too.  Then, I'd create a TLC bulletin board somewhere in the classroom to display the finished work because the projects come out A-MA-ZING!

The projects can be used for loads of things: Monthly Quilt Project, Class Books, Big Books, Storytelling Props, or simply an art activity that follows any unit or theme.  They literally have theme books for any project or unit! I love, love, love it!!!

Semi-Truck Sample Lesson from TLC Lessons Website: Semi-Truck Lesson
When you view this lesson you'll get an idea of the format that they use inside their books.  I love it because in addition to giving you the sizes needed to create the project they also provide you (at the end of the lesson) with a list of storybooks that would be ideal for use with each particular project, which I think is very thoughtful of them! :)

Here are some samples from Kinder Korner:
( The Gingerbread Man Story and Martin Luther King, Jr.  TLC Art Projects)

(This picture features all of the January TLC Projects that were done for that month all together: Hickory Dickory Dock, Martin Luther King, Jr., The Gingerbread Man, Humpty Dumpty and Jack Be Nimble)

Also, you can view a ton of TLC Art Project pictures on this website: Kinder Pond

Happy Creating!
